A "systematic review (SR)" is a method that comprehensively investigates existing research results regarding functional components (materials) from major databases in life sciences and biomedical fields, summarizes homogeneous items, and critically examines their effects while considering various factors that may distort the results. Using the verification results of the research review, it becomes possible to submit notifications for functional food labeling to the Consumer Affairs Agency.
